Security film (Burglary)

Reinforce your windows against burglary and vandalism with professional security film. It keeps the glass intact in the event of an attempted break-in — without the need to replace the glass.

Burglar-resistant security film for commercial premises

Glass is the weakest link in the security of most buildings. WrapBaas security film reinforces your windows so that they remain intact in the event of an attempted break-in or vandalism — this means a burglar will need considerably more time to gain entry, which greatly reduces the likelihood of a successful break-in. Combine safety film with privacy film for glass that protects and ensures privacy.

How does security film work?

Security film is a thick, multi-layered polyester film that is applied to the inside of the glass. In the event of a blow, a kick or the use of tools, the film holds the glass shards together. The glass may break, but it remains in the frame as a single, coherent unit. A burglar who would normally break through a window in seconds now needs minutes — and usually gives up.

Applications: for which buildings and windows?

Security film is particularly valuable for shops with display windows, ground-floor office buildings, hospitality venues and restaurants, schools and healthcare facilities, and premises in areas prone to burglary. We apply the film to single-glazed, double-glazed and laminated safety glass. Both small windows and large glass surfaces are suitable. Add sun-blocking film Choose a comprehensive solution that protects against both burglary and heat.

Protection against vandalism and explosions as well

As well as providing protection against burglary, security film also offers protection against vandalism (such as stones or other objects being thrown), storm and wind damage causing glass to shatter, and, in special versions, protection against explosions or bomb attacks. Certified film grades are available for government and defence-related buildings. Make the most of your windows — add window lettering to boost your business’s visibility.

Invisible or combined with sun protection or privacy screens

Standard safety film is virtually invisible — from the outside, you cannot tell that the windows have been fitted with film. We also offer combination films which, in addition to safety, provide sun protection, heat protection or a tinted effect. This allows you to enjoy multiple benefits in a single product.

Frequently Asked Questions

FAQ

How much does security film for business windows cost?
The price depends on the glass surface area and the type of film chosen. Safety film is considerably cheaper than replacing the glass with safety glass. Use our quotation form to receive a bespoke quote within 24 hours.
How thick is security film, and is it visible?
Safety film is available in various thicknesses, typically ranging from 100 to 400 microns. Standard transparent variants are virtually invisible from the outside. Combined variants with sun protection or tinting do, however, have a visible effect.
What types of glass can safety film be applied to?
On single-glazed, double-glazed and laminated glass. In the case of double glazing, the film is applied to the inside of the inner pane. During the inspection, we will assess which approach is best suited to your glazing.
How long does security film last?
Professionally fitted safety film will last for 10 to 15 years under normal use. The film is resistant to UV radiation, cleaning products and temperature fluctuations.
Does security film completely prevent a break-in?
Security film does not completely stop a determined burglar, but it does slow them down significantly. Research shows that burglars give up if they encounter resistance for more than 3 minutes. Security film ensures that breaking the glass takes considerably longer than with untreated glass.
Are there any certified film grades available?
Yes. There are film grades available that comply with European standards for burglar-resistant glazing (EN 356) and blast-resistant glass (EN 13541). These are suitable for buildings with heightened security requirements.
Can you also combine security film with sun protection?
Yes. We offer combined films that provide both burglary-resistant and sun-control properties. This means you benefit from cooling and security in a single product. Please also see our Sun-Control Film service for more information.
Is it possible to carry out the installation outside office hours?
Yes. We are happy to schedule installations outside business hours to minimise disruption. Please mention this when requesting a quote.
In which area do you operate?
WrapBaas operates throughout the Netherlands.
How do I request a quote?
Please complete the quote form on our website, specify the number and dimensions of the windows to be fitted, and describe your security requirements. You will receive a bespoke quote within 24 hours.
