What is privacy window film?

Privacy window film is a self-adhesive or static film that we apply professionally to your windows. The film makes the glass opaque or semi-transparent, so that people outside cannot see in — whilst daylight still streams in. Ideal for bathrooms, bedrooms, front-door windows, conservatories and office spaces. We always fit the film to measure: precisely cut to the exact dimensions of your window.

Popular types of film

We install various types of privacy film, depending on the desired effect: Combine window film with window frame wrapping for a fully finished window area.

  • Frosted glass film — soft, diffused appearance; most popular for bathrooms and toilets
  • Sandblasted film — a matt, industrial effect that resembles genuine sandblasted glass
  • Decorative window film with prints — geometric, botanical, lime-wash or custom-designed
  • Static window film — neither self-adhesive nor self-fusing; easy to remove without leaving any adhesive residue
  • Partial privacy — cover only the lower half of the window to let light in at the top and ensure privacy at the bottom

Benefits of professionally fitted window film

  • Privacy without compromising on light — daylight continues to shine through
  • No need for curtains or blinds — a more spacious and sleek look
  • Bubble-free finish — professional installation with no visible seams or air pockets
  • Suitable for all types of glass — single-glazed, double-glazed, skylights and conservatory windows
  • Removable and customisable — the film leaves no damage on the glass Don’t forget your window sills — take a look at the options for wrapping window sills.

Where do we apply window film?

Window film is most commonly applied to bathroom windows, toilet windows, front-door windows and bedroom windows where privacy is desired but curtains are impractical. It is also popular for conservatories, extensions and office spaces. Decorative window film featuring prints or geometric patterns is increasingly being used as a design element — as an alternative to expensive stained glass or sandblasting. We’d be happy to help you find the best solution for your windows.

Frequently Asked Questions

FAQ

What is the difference between static and self-adhesive window film?
Static window film adheres without glue — it sticks to the glass through static electricity. It is easy to remove and leaves no adhesive residue. Self-adhesive film sticks to the glass and is more durable but more difficult to remove. We can advise you on which type is best suited to your situation.
Can I still see outside through privacy film?
That depends on the type of film. Frosted film makes the window completely opaque in both directions — you cannot see through it. One-way film (mirror film) does allow you to see out, whilst people outside cannot see in, but it only works when it is lighter outside than inside.
Which film works best for a bathroom window?
Frosted glass film or sandblasted film are the most popular choices for bathrooms. They provide complete privacy whilst still allowing daylight to shine through. We always fit the film to measure so that even corners and window frames are neatly finished.
How long does window film last?
When fitted professionally and used under normal conditions, high-quality window film will last between 5 and 10 years. Self-adhesive film is easy to replace if necessary.
Can I fit window film myself?
It is possible, but professional fitting ensures a bubble-free, smooth finish that lasts much longer. Film applied by yourself often has air bubbles, unevenly cut edges or comes away at the corners. Our specialists do this every day and are guaranteed to deliver a great result.
Does window film damage my glass?
No. Window film does not damage the glass when fitted and removed by a professional. Static film leaves absolutely no trace. Self-adhesive film may, in rare cases, leave slight traces of adhesive if removed incorrectly, but these are easy to remove.
Can you also have decorative window film with your own design fitted?
Yes. We can also have window film printed with your own design, logo or pattern. Ideal for offices, restaurants or as a personal interior accent. Please get in touch via our quote form to find out more about the options.
How much does it cost to have window film fitted?
The cost depends on the number of windows, their dimensions and the film you choose. Request a no-obligation quote via our quote form for an exact, bespoke price.
Do you deliver to our home as well?
Yes, we always come to your home. We operate throughout the Netherlands. Book an appointment using the quote form on our website.
