Sun-blocking film

Keep your business premises cool in summer with professional sun-control film. Reduces heat and glare — without obstructing the view or requiring glass replacement.

Less heat, less glare — without replacing your windows

In summer, the temperature behind large windows can rise rapidly — resulting in reduced comfort, higher air-conditioning costs and employees being dazzled. Professional sun-control film from WrapBaas filters out up to 80% of solar heat and 99% of UV radiation, whilst largely preserving the view outside. Combine sun protection with privacy film for a comprehensive glass solution.

How does sun-control film work?

Sun-control film consists of a thin polyester film with a metallic or ceramic coating that reflects or absorbs infrared radiation (heat) and UV light before it passes through the glass. Visible light is only partially filtered, so the room remains light and bright. Variants range from lightly tinted to heavily tinted, depending on the desired level of heat and light reduction.

Applications: offices, shops and healthcare premises

Sun-control film is ideal for offices with large south-facing windows, shops with shop windows exposed to direct sunlight, healthcare facilities where a comfortable temperature is essential, meeting rooms with projection screens (to reduce glare), and server rooms or archives that need to remain cool. For added security, you can combine sun-blocking film with safety film.

Combine with privacy or security film

Sun-control film can be combined with privacy film (mirror effect or frosted finish) or security film (burglar-resistant). This allows you to enjoy multiple benefits in a single film. We recommend the right combination based on your window type, orientation and requirements. For homes, insulating window film a similar solution offering the same benefits.

Savings on air conditioning costs

By reducing the amount of solar heat entering the building, the air conditioning does not have to work as hard — which can lead to significant savings on energy bills during the summer months. Window film is therefore not only a measure to improve comfort but also a sustainable investment.

Frequently Asked Questions

FAQ

How much does sun-control film cost for an office?
The price depends on the total glass area, the type of film and how accessible the windows are. If you fill in our quotation form, you’ll receive a bespoke quote within 24 hours.
How much heat does sun-blocking film block?
Depending on the type of film, solar control film blocks between 40% and 80% of the sun’s heat. Lightly tinted varieties filter out less heat but allow more light through; heavily tinted or reflective varieties filter out more heat.
Is it getting darker in my office?
To some extent, depending on the type chosen. Lightly tinted films reduce the amount of light entering by 10–20 per cent — a difference that is barely noticeable. Darkly tinted variants reduce the amount of light entering more significantly, but also filter out more heat.
Is sun-control film also suitable for single-glazed windows?
Yes, but certain heavy-duty films applied to single-glazed windows can cause thermal stress. During the inspection, we will assess which type of film is suitable for your type of glazing.
How long does window film last?
High-quality sun-control film lasts for 10 to 15 years. The UV protection and heat-filtering properties remain effective throughout its entire lifespan.
Can sun-control film be combined with privacy film?
Yes. We offer combination films that both block out heat and provide privacy — through a mirror effect during the day or a frosted finish. Ideal for ground-floor windows.
Can the film be removed as well?
Yes. Window film can be professionally removed without damaging the glass. This is ideal if you want to replace the film when moving house or carrying out a renovation.
Does sun-control film also help to reduce energy costs?
Yes. By reducing the amount of solar heat entering the building, the air conditioning system does not need to work as hard. The exact savings depend on the building’s orientation, surface area and current air-conditioning system.
In which area do you operate?
WrapBaas operates throughout the Netherlands.
